FilmGauge estimates the remaining film length and coverage on an industrial roll (window tint, paint protection film, PVB interlayer, and similar) from the roll’s outer diameter, core diameter, film thickness, and web width.
Where does the film catalog come from? Presets are seeded with nominal published specifications from manufacturers’ public data sheets. Producer names identify each film’s manufacturer; FilmGauge is not affiliated with or endorsed by any film producer.
How accurate is the estimate? The result includes an uncertainty band. Accuracy depends mostly on how precisely the outer diameter and film thickness are known — the calibration feature lets you tune thickness against a known-length roll.
Where is my data stored? Everything stays on your device. On iOS, custom films can sync between your own devices via your personal iCloud account. See the Privacy Policy.
The camera measurement can’t find the circles. Auto-detection needs a reasonably straight-on, well-lit photo of the roll’s end face. If it can’t lock on, you can always position the two measurement rings manually.
